Re: What would you do?
Take a deep breath, center myself and push that button as soon as I'm ready.
I'm not really afraid of death, I'm more afraid of pain.

Thats a good point. Most people are afraid of death because it is usually associated with pain. Especially in our era with violence on TV, video games, even popular music. But if people were offered death without pain they would take it, hands down.
I dont know if there would be any time that you would prefer to have a painful death over a painless one. Exept if there were other consequences. Example: Adding on the the original question about the two buttons, next to the button is a switch. It choses what kind of death you will have when/if you press the button. One setting for painless death, the other for painfull death. You know that if you select the painless death, you will die painlessly, but your family and everyone you love and cherish will live very roughly for the rest of their lives. But if you choose the painfull death, you will die very painfully but your family and friends will not be touched. And now as I am writing this, I realize there could be a THIRD setting on the switch. One for a VERY painfull death. If you choose this setting, you will die in the slowest, most painfull death imaginable, but your family and friends will be granted with good fortune for the rest of their lives. Maybe they would become very wealthy, live to a very old age, or something of that sort.
What would you do?
