Interesting note on the Aztecs (more to come) I've been researching these guys a lot for my main writing project lateley. They have very very interesting history, origins, AND cultures.
The Aztecs, for example are soley thought of as human sacrificing bloody warriors. Though this was not always the case. In fact, this only became the case about toward the time in which they were discovered.
In fact Aztec teaching talk about a Quetzalcoatl, a white bearded God, who told them not to make sacrifices and to love eachother. (Hence the confusion upon Cortez's arrival)
Another Enigma is how they came up with the idea of pyramids. It has been discovered that there were at least two landing parties of ancient american inhabitants. Those from whom descended the Incans and those of the Maya/Aztec peoples. Incas do not have pyramids and it is thought that there was a civilization that possibly predated egypt. However the for the Aztec/Mayan civilizations there is increasing evidence of a european or middle eastern descent.
The whole land bridge theory is falling apart and archeologists are leaning towards a european colonization theory which could explain the pyramid phenomenon. Some have even speculated Hebraic origin.
(Land bridge theory is falling apart because the time in which the people we supposed to have come, the glacier had not opened up (and wouldn't for another 2000 years))
Some findings in this area are architectural trends and specifically the cloven point spear head. This invention is found on both sides of the Atlantic and certain patterns in their creation have led recent scientist to suspect a link.
Re: Interesting note on the Aztecs (more to come) Cool thanks I always had a lot of confusion with that subject I mean Cortez and that God never really made a connection to me. Thanks a ton
