If this is turning into a Windows vs. Linux thread,
I don´t think it will, we all agree both systems have their strength why don't we add the KDE vs. Gnome dicussion?
Oh no, please. I am actually leaning toward the "thin" Desktop Managers, like Ice, though I must admit that I have KDE as well as Gnome installed.
Seriously, though, Linux is a great OS, and it'll only get better.
Fully agree, especially on the latter part of your statement
Linux only developed because computer users were fed up with paying ridiculous amounts of money for their OSs and software. Microsoft is very cheeky and should be taught a lesson.
My problem with MS, is the closed source thing, and their marketing scheme. It´s business and it works, but as consumer you´re f****d. Same thing in Linux, you´re on your own, but at least you haven´t paid a fortune to get that feeling.

No worries, I won't start that pointless discussion, since almost every Linux user has both KDE and Gnome installed.

My point exactly. Long live open source.
