Required membership
Hi there!
I am new to Runboard... As such I don't understand too much...
This is a really cool message board. If my message does not belong here, please disregard.
What I am trying to accomplish:
- main page requires registration which must be authorized by me
- e.g. you enter name and email address, that info is sent to me via email, I approve it if 1) you enter your real name 2) it matches your UofT email address
Is that possible?
I selected membership access only but that bars access to everything and offers no options for applying for membership...
If I select log-in, then anyone can go on the board. I want people to register using their real names so that they are not deindividuated, giving them license to spam, flame, etc...
Do you have to be a runboard member? That would, unfortunately, defeat the purpose for me.
Can anyone help me?
Cheers,
Weronika

Re: Required membership
Runboard doesn't offer the membership requirement process that you want, I'm afraid.
To post anywhere on Runboard, you must be have a registered Runboard account. None of the personal detail provided at time of registration (name, email address etc ) is accessible by other Runboard members, including board owners.
But, as an owner, you can stipulate certain membership requirements for your board. If you like, you can make one public forum where the rules of membership are stated. All the other forums on that board could be made private, so only accepted members of your board can enter.
People wanting to join your board could then follow your membership requirements. Once they have done that, you can give them access to the private forums.
